On Friday, May 30, 2025, OPA-Saddleback Valley received the CA Distinguished School Award at a ceremony held at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim. OPA-SV was one of only two public charter schools in Orange County to receive the award, which was presented by Tony Thurmond, California State Superintendent.
The CA Distinguished Schools Program recognizes elementary and middle and high schools in alternate years. Schools recognized as a California Distinguished School hold the title for two years.
Chancellor Wright, Dean Bridges, and Executive Director Dr. Kimberly Fricker were on hand to receive the award on behalf of the entire OPA-SV staff.
